Conserving elephants together
with Animals Asia

Slow Travel · Ethical Experiences

Faced with the rapid decline and looming disappearance of domestic elephants in Đắk Lắk, Animals Asia (AAF) has expanded its elephant conservation programme to Vietnam — protecting animal welfare and promoting humane, sustainable tourism.

AAF supports elephant-owning households in transitioning from elephant-riding to ethical, friendly tourism. Families receive livelihood support and sustainable income alternatives, reducing their dependence on exploiting elephants for tourism.

Elephants then live closer to nature — free to walk in the forest, bathe in mud, forage and live by instinct. Lonature is a link in this chain: travelers observe elephants from a safe distance, with no riding and no performance.

Beyond elephant experiences, Lonature offers immersive nature activities: forest bathing, mindful meditation, herbal tea in the woods, camping, forest cycling, and village tours of traditional Tây Nguyên communities — paired with explorations of the Sêrêpốk River, Bìm Bịp Waterfall and Yok Đôn National Park.

Every traveler on a Lonature journey contributes meaningfully to elephant conservation in Vietnam. Lonature commits 5–10% of profit to elephant welfare and the preservation of nature for generations to come.
